Well done Jean and Good Luck in Portugal

Muskerry’s Jean O’Driscoll is one of 11 Irish players in a quality field of 108 competing for the 82^nd Portuguese Ladies Amateur Championship, which starts on 26^th January in Montado, Lisbon.

The 82nd Portuguese Amateur marks the start of the 2012 Ladies International season in Europe and is sure to be tightly contested amongst Europe's elite players.

The event tees off with three stroke-play rounds over Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the top forty players and ties competing over a final 18 holes on Sunday to decide the Champion.

PORTUGUESE Ladies Amateur champion Leona Maguire will lead a group of 11 Irish players as she defends her title at Montado, Lisbon  next Thursday. The other 10 players are Lisa Maguire (Slieve Russell), Irish Girls’ Champion Paula Grant (Lisburn), current international Gillian O’Leary (Cork), Jessica Carty (Holywood), Victoria Bradshaw (Bangor), Sarah Cunningham (Ennis), Louise Mernagh (Woodenbridge), Aedin Murphy (Carlow), Jean O’Driscoll (Muskerry) and Lucy Simpson (Massereene).
